Shahin Sabouri

Shahin is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) who offers therapy to individuals 18 and older. She received her Masters in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelors in Psychology from North Carolina State University.  She has helped individuals with depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment issues, grief/loss, LGBTQ+ community, life transitions or stress, substance abuse, and psychosis. Shahin holds a second license in North Carolina (Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist) that enables her to assess and treat individuals with addiction issues.

Shahin is a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) practitioner and a mindfulness therapist with more than 11 years of experience. Her clinical approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and commitment (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She provides a holistic, strengths-based, person-centered approach, and offers a judgment-free ear to listen and support her clients.

Her message to clients is: “Let’s achieve harmony in our lives.”  She believes that all people have the power within themselves to achieve health and wholeness, which includes a peaceful state of mind, a nurtured soul, and healing.

Shahin is originally from Iran, and she can deliver therapeutic services in 3 languages (English, Farsi, & Azeri). In her free time, she enjoys the company of her husband, two adult children, her herb garden, and her good friends. She loves being in nature, near the ocean, walking, dancing, writing poems in her native languages, and volunteering.
