Regina Gavin Williams
Ph.D., NCC, LCMHC
Regina Gavin Williams is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and a counselor educator. Regina received her PhD in Counseling and Counselor Education from North Carolina State University and has ten years of counseling experience in both education and community settings. Regina works with individuals and their families who may be experiencing a wide range of mental health, personal, and career-related concerns, helping them to achieve emotional wellness and balance in their everyday lives. Regina also describes herself as a community builder, helping individuals create meaningful connections to others in spaces where they can thrive and grow.
Using a variety of therapeutic approaches based on clients’ needs, Regina uses cognitive-behavioral therapy, reality therapy, or solution-focused therapy, with a person-centered focus, to help them work through their challenges. Regina focuses on helping individuals create a workable plan that is specific to their needs, establishing a collaborative relationship in both developing and achieving set goals. She provides structured counseling with an emphasis on having unconditional positive regard for clients, where they are given the opportunity to gain insight in a safe and supportive environment. One of her main priorities is to help individuals make the positive changes needed to live a more fulfilling life. Additionally, Regina would be a good match for anyone who is seeking a counselor of color, or anyone who is experiencing a life transition such as those related to career/work, parenting/caregiving, or interpersonal relationships.
