Dimica Lawrence, MSW, LCSW
Pronouns: she/her
Dimica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working with adults, couples, and families for almost a decade. She can be described as a “compassionately confronting” therapist who enjoys working with people to move toward deeper connection with themselves and the people they love.
Dimica has an interest in supporting clients facing emotional disturbances, trauma, and relational/inner conflict. Her clinical perspective is heavily framed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (for individuals and couples), Internal Family Systems, and Somatic Attachment. Dimica is also certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, which is a modality similar to EMDR used to address complex trauma and distress. In addition, she also provides resilience training, crisis support, and clinical strategy to non-profits and local businesses. When she has time time, she serves as a clinical supervisor to provisionally licensed therapists. She always makes it a priority to progress her clinical skills and keep her toolbox eclectic.
Through both personal and professional experiences, Dimica has cultivated a flexible and shameless approach–always meeting clients where they are in their process. Dimica allows her clients to lead their journey of mental and emotional wellness while she walks beside them. She believes that the therapeutic relationship is a collaborative effort, knowing that clients are the experts in their own lives and relationships.
Through the provision of psycho-education and incorporating appropriate evidence-based practices, she strives to help clients increase their self-awareness, emotional granularity, and interpersonal effectiveness. Emphasizing motivational interviewing and a strengths-based approach, Dimica supports her clients in experiencing their power within their lives.
