Gabriela Magallanes, LCSWA, LCAS
Gabriela is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) who works with adults (18+) navigating a wide spectrum of life experiences. Her clinical focus includes anxiety disorders, substance use, gender and sexuality identity exploration, trauma, and major life transitions. She also has experience supporting individuals navigating maladaptive sexual behaviors, those in polyamorous relationships, and clients who identify as kink-involved or kink-positive.
Gabriela is LGBTQ2+ affirming and deeply committed to creating inclusive, affirming care for individuals from historically marginalized and non-dominant communities. Her practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based approach. She strives to foster a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals and couples can build insight, cultivate self-acceptance, and move toward the lives they want to lead.
Gabriela values transparency, trust, and mutual respect in the therapeutic relationship. She understands that meaningful growth often happens outside of session—and loves working with clients who are curious, reflective, and open to engaging with resources like books, podcasts, or structured self-work between sessions.
Gabriela is a Raleigh-native. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s of Social Work from North Carolina State University. When she’s not in the therapy room, you can find Gabriela biking around the Triangle or enjoying nature with her Standard Poodle, Lola.
