Janet Slay, LCMHC, CRC

Janet is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) who specializes in supporting teens and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, chronic self-criticism, perfectionism, and major life transitions. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

At the heart of Janet’s work is a strong belief in the power of the therapeutic relationship. She prioritizes creating a warm, collaborative, and compassionate space where clients feel heard and understood. Janet uses evidence-based approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support clients in reaching their mental health goals. Her approach emphasizes empowering clients to harness their strengths and cultivate resilience so they can live more joyfully.

Outside of her professional work, Janet enjoys spending time with loved ones, searching for the best chai latte in town, reading epic novels, exploring nature, and traveling to new places.
