Christine Gerhard Dicks, LCSW, SEP
For more than 20 years, Christine has practiced as a social worker in a variety of settings, including child welfare, mental health and employee assistance counseling. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Michigan State University. She is also a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) and is skilled at assessing and treating a wide range of emotional issues.
Christine’s experience includes work with children, adolescents, adults and families on issues related to trauma, mental health, parenting, self-esteem, grief and loss, career and life transition issues as well as separation and divorce.
Christine integrates a psycho-biological approach to her therapy practice as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). Somatic Experiencing is a process that aims to renegotiate trauma in a gentle, non-cathartic way. Her goal is to help her clients reduce stress, increase healthy resources, and ultimately increase their capacity for joy and connection. Christine works to provide a safe and supportive environment, free of judgment and criticism, so that each person can attain their life’s goals.
