Claire Magee, LCMHC, CRC, RYT-200

Claire is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling as well as her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

When working with both individuals and couples, Claire prioritizes warmth, honesty, and curiosity to facilitate a deep understanding of clients’ stories and goals. She specializes in treating anxiety disorders, relationship issues and family conflict, disordered eating, body image distress, and life transitions. Her work with couples draws primarily from the Gottman Method and she is currently working towards certification as a Certified Gottman Therapist.

In her work with individuals, Claire blends a variety of modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic therapy. Her time as a yoga teacher has enriched her work as a clinician, and she enjoys helping clients connect the mind and body through somatic approaches such as mindfulness and breath-work when appropriate. Claire is affirming of all genders and sexualities.

Claire places the therapeutic relationship at the core of her practice. She works to provide a space free from judgment to help clients create and find meaning while leading fulfilled, empowered lives.
