Janet Slay, LCMHCA, CRC

Janet, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), is committed to nurturing growth and holistic well-being in her clients. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Specializing in supporting adolescents and adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-criticism, life transitions, and relationship concerns, Janet is particularly passionate about assisting emerging adults in managing their mental health while building fulfilling lives.

Janet places a strong emphasis on establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship built on warmth, collaboration, and compassion. She believes that creating an emotionally safe environment is crucial for effective therapeutic work. Janet utilizes evidence-based interventions like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy to help clients achieve their mental health goals. Her approach focuses on amplifying strengths and developing meaningful skills to facilitate impactful change in clients’ lives.

Outside of her professional life, Janet enjoys spending time with loved ones, searching for the best chai latte in town, reading novels, exploring nature, and traveling to new places.
