Megan Lanier, LCMHCA, CRC

Megan is dually licensed as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). She earned both a Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She provides individual therapy to adolescents and adults of all ages with a primary interest in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety and stress, depression, chronic pain, obsessive-compulsive disorder, traumatic brain injury, and interpersonal concerns.

As a therapist, Megan strives to create a welcoming and validating space where clients feel safe to explore their inner world and empowered to move towards growth and a more meaningful life. She firmly believes in the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship and views trust, mutual respect, and authenticity as key pieces of the counseling process. As part of her holistic and culturally sensitive approach, Megan incorporates various evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness-based techniques. Megan is LGBTQIA+ allied and is committed to anti-racism and cultural humility in her practice.

In her spare time, Megan can be found spending time with her partner and their two pets (Greta and Link). She enjoys practicing yoga, trying new restaurants, baking, playing flute in a local community concert band, and hiking with her German Shepherd puppy!
